It’s a play on a “sock-hop” which was an informal dance event in 50’s and 60’s featuring popular music.
Why a RockHop?
Detroit has a deep-rooted history with dance parties, rock and soul music. We want to celebrate our heritage!

Named New York’s 10-Top must see local bands, DDWhite is New York-based/Michigan-raised kaliedo-pop band with a distinctive rawness, solid rhythm section, engaging frontwoman and a good old-fashioned hooks. Charisma-packed, versatile, and fun, one can’t help but be drawn in by the contagious energy of DDWhite. Catchy emotional hooks vibe with “in-your-face instrumentation” that invite listeners in on an exciting and intimate musical experience.
Brother Hallow is a mix of Roots Rock & Soul. Their music is inclusive and aims to connect with the listener. Their debut EP “Dark House Shelter” was released in August 2016 and plans for a LP are in the works for 2017
Soul Deep has an affinity for the Detroit’s fine musical exports, the finest of which is undeniably the Soul music of the ’60s. What started as a mere curiosity, and then a modest pile of the singles, soon grew into an expansive collection of Soul, R&B, Jazz, and Early Rock & Roll records from the 1950s-1970s.
